Birdwatching is one of the sustainable tourism activities based on the principles of amateur ornithology. This type of leisure is popular in the Northern America and Western Europe. In Ukraine, it is only gaining popularity and has a positive dynamics of audience coverage. Since development of modern technologies for photographic equipment and optical device the tourists have more possibilities for comfortable observations and photo-animalistic than before. Charitable Foundation Beremytske Biosphere aims to popularize this type of tourism and create comfortable conditions for this activity in the Nature Park Beremytske.

- Increasing public awareness of ornithological fauna surrounding;
- Promotes the principles of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (Bonn Convention) and accelerating of Ukraine’s Integration into the Natura 2000 Network;
- Promoting recreational activities based leisure, that is environmentally friendly and preserving opportunities for similar recreation of the future generations;
- Implementing the scientific foundation for the further generation and creating the basis to increasing the number of young scientists;
- Assisting in primary information accumulation that can be used by scientists to conduct the applied researches;
- Creates an opportunity for leisure that allows moral rest from everyday life and has a positive psychological effect.

- To implement the project, at the initial stages we plan to involve Ukrainian ornithologists, young scientists and amateur ornithologists to study the ornithological fauna in the Nature Park Beremytske and adjacent areas, to identify background species and those bird species that can be met during migration routes;
- The results of these researches and observations will form the basis for fitting out of the tourist routes that will have the infrastructural possibilities for comfortable bird watching:
– We plan to install information stands guiding visitors about the common species of bird on biotopes where they can be found most often;
– place trail cameras in the nesting places of the most vulnerable species or those that require further study;
– organize observing points for photographing the birds;
– equip birdwatching shelter houses and lookout towers;
– purchase of optical devices; - A significant part of the project deals with popularization of birdwatching. Thus, such preparatory procedures include as follows: edition of printed matter; engagement of guides; collaboration with travel organizers to promote relatively unknown tourist destinations; holding photo contests and conferences involving specialists to raise our awareness and share worldwide experience.

Nature Park Beremytske is equidistanced between two major cities and their agglomerations, with a total population of more than 5 million people. It’s close towards two airports, passing more than 60% of passengers’ traffic in Ukraine and close to the international highway connecting Ukraine and Belarus. Such comfortable location provides welcoming to the Park for a significant audience.
Birdwatching is mostly effective in evening or morning hours, when birds are the most active.
On the administrative-recreational territory of the Nature Park Beremytske the infrastructure facilities are designed for comfortable accommodation of travelers in small houses and tents, thus the guests can go out to watch the birds at any time of day. The protected area of the park is carefully guarded throughout the year, and birdwatching is safe, even during the hunting season.

This project needs full support at different stages of its implementation, so everyone can join its implementation. Cooperation can be varied, as far as possible those wishing to join. Beremytske Biosphere Charitable Foundation will be grateful for financial assistance for infrastructure, information support and promotion of birdwatching, organization of ornithological surveys, thematic conferences and sports birdwatching competitions.

Let’s create conditions together for studying
