Foundation projects for 2020 year

This year «Beremytske Biosphere» is continuing the project activities that were announced last year. Beremytske Biosphere is also looking into opportunities for environmental and cultural heritage, kaizen and climate education.

Reappearance of wild ox like cattle and educational layout «Ancient tour. Past and Present» conduction were a highlight of the last year. During the winter time in the Nature Park Beremytske animals have gotten acclimatized and new baby Ox are joining the herd. Our plans for the 2020 year are to grow and introduce new and existing animal species in the park to form a Holocene faunal assemblage.

Within the framework of the Chernihiv woodlands project the Department of Culture and Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of Chernihiv Regional State Administration was ministerial to the opening of the tourist season of the Chernihiv region on the 18 of march. This event will be held as part of the international tourism development conference called «Historical cultural heritage as a source of the touristic attraction of the region: experience, practice, innovations».

2020 will be devoted to the holding awareness festivals. On the 2nd and 3rd of May there will be a historical festival named “The wolf’s mountain”, that is dedicated to saving the wild populations, cultural heritage and historical heritage of the European ethnic group of the Х-ХІІ centuries.

On the 23rd and 24th of May the first festival will be held as part of Birdwatching in the natural park «Beremytske» project named «Kulik» that is pointed at the popularization of the constant tourism and devote its attention to the woodlands vulnerable avifauna species. This festival will be conducted under the principle of : « from youth to scientist», as a part of the fond project called «Forest school», that is traditionally held under the active involvement of the «Young naturalist Sivershyna club».

Within the framework of the “Literature translation and publication” project the issuing of «Rewilding horses in Europe» novel by Lio Lionarts, Rene Meisner and «The Aurochs» novel by Valter Frish are also in a holding pattern. «The Aurochs. Born to be wild» is expected to be published too. On our site it’s also possible to get acquainted with ”Natural pasturage” work by Ronald Vermeylen within a free access. These opportunities we hold thanks to support of Agricultural Department councilor of Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine.

Hanging and repopulating of new hives, building up new echo paths towards hives have being planned within the framework of the “Renewal and wild-hive beekeeping” project throughout the Beremytske Nature Park terrain.

Planting trees in Nature Park Beremytske is renewed every spring. This year the peculiar emphasis will be focused on increasing grass variety, particularly the planting of the early bloomers. We invite everyone to join this activity.
